Refugee Week: Events
Date: Friday 19 June 2026
Time: 11:00 - 15:00
Venue: Kelvingrove Park
Category: Social events, Sanctuary, Community events

This collective journey and tapestry making workshop will begin in Kelvingrove Park to gather materials that represent home, belonging, hope, and change, or in some way reflect our rootedness to new and old landscapes. After creating our shared collection, we will move to the university to print our objects onto fabric. We will end our activity by stitching together our pieces of fabric into a tapestry that represents the connectedness of our stories.

No previous artistic experience is required, and all are welcome.

The final work will then be displayed at the university as a symbol of our commitment to celebrating unity, forging belonging, and marking the landscapes that shape us.

This event is a follow-up to the This is your home event, taking place Thursday 18 June. We encourage participation at both, but it is also okay to attend one or the other as a standalone. Please join us for both events, the workshop you are most excited by, or drop in for part of the session. We look forward to seeing you there! Please search for 'This is your home' on Eventbrite to find registration information for this event.
