Wealth of Nations 250 Anniversary Events Launch in Beijing

On Tuesday 7 April, the University officially launched its international Wealth of Nations 250 anniversary programme with a flagship event hosted by the Peking University School of Economics on its historic campus.

The event brought together leading academics, distinguished guests, and alumni from across China to mark the beginning of a global series of activities celebrating the legacy and contemporary relevance of The Wealth of Nations. The symposium was opened by Prof Graeme Roy (Head of Adam Smith Business School) and Prof Xuezheng Qin (Academic Committee Member at Peking University School of Economics), who welcomed participants and highlighted the importance of international collaboration in advancing economic thought and addressing global challenges.

The one-day symposium was led by Prof Jianbo Zhou, Head of Economic History at Peking University School of Economics, and featured contributions from leading Chinese economists who shared insights on the continuing influence of Adam Smith’s work.
