A&F Practice Enhancement Tool
The Assessment & Feedback Practice Enhancement Tool (PET)
The PET is an annual survey to support our teaching staff to reflect on their assessment practices and consider how they currently align with the University's Learning Through Assessment Framework.
You can view results from PET 2026 via the PET Dashboard below.
Thanks to the engagement with the A&F PET in 2024 and 2025, we were able to roll out additional support for colleagues across the University:
- Continued development of the Assessment & Feedback Hub with colleague-led content; a key resource to enhance the support for teaching staff to review and change assessment and feedback practices.
- Assessment Changes Workshops led by Academic and Digital Development to support assessment changes at a College level.
- The LTA has been embedded in learning on the PGCAP, with 120 staff annually benefitting from learning on it.
- The establishment of the AI Subgroup and Feedback Literacy Subgroup.
Practice Enhancement Tool Dashboard 2026
The Assessment & Feedback Practice Enhancement Tool Dashboard is now available for all staff in the University of Glasgow. From this year’s survey, we are seeing evidence that the Learning Through Assessment Framework is successfully being embedded across the University:
- Increased awareness and application of all LTA pillars for two consecutive years.
- Growing discussion and interest in scalable inclusive assessment provision.
- Meaningful Assessment stays the LTA pillar most applied in practice.
- Growing and active approaches to supporting student understanding and engagement with academic integrity.
- Greater interest in incorporating permitted or intentionally designed uses of AI within assessment appeared as a key theme in 2026.
How to use the dashboards
The results of the Practice Enhancement Tool will provide Colleges with an overview of areas within their teaching that align with the Learning Through Assessment pillars, and areas where further support and development might be needed. We recommend that Schools and Colleges look at their data compared to how well it aligns with the Learning Through Assessment Framework. Steps can then be taken where necessary to make assessment and feedback more meaningful, iterative, programmatic, and inclusive.
- The A&F PET dashboards display two views, a University view split by College, and a College view split by School.
- The left-hand side bar of each dashboard allows navigation to each question and the results are split by LTA pillar (i.e. Meaningful, Iterative, Programmatic and Inclusive assessment and feedback). Each question allows you to select your School, College and filter all question responses.
- The filter options will allow you to highlight your chosen response. This can use useful to focus on specific response topics.
