Eligibility
Qualifications criteria
Applicants applying for a MVLS/EPSRC studentship must have obtained, or be about to obtain, a first or upper second class UK honours degree or the equivalent qualifications gained outside the UK, in an appropriate area of science or technology.
Residence criteria
The studentship provides funding for tuition fees, a stipend and laboratory expenses.
The MVLS/EPSRC grant provides tuition fees and stipend of at least £20,780 (UKRI rate 2025/26).
Fully funded studentships are available at the UK Home rate.
Please note that we are unable to accept any International Applicants in the 2025/26 intake.
UK Home studentship
To be classed as a home student, candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be a UK National (meeting residency requirements), or
- Have settled status, or
- Have pre-settled status (meeting residency requirements), or
- Have indefinite leave to remain or enter
All other candidates will be classed as an International student.
