Full and developmental papers stream

The conference accepts both full and developmental papers.

Full papers presented will be assigned a discussant to provide comments. Developmental papers can be either a work-in-progress paper or an extended abstract (of no less than 1,000 words).

Submissions on the above-mentioned topics and on other aspects of financial reporting and business communication are welcome.

Papers may take empirical, theoretical and conceptual approaches, including case studies or experiments. 

Doctoral stream

For doctoral students wishing to present in the doctoral stream, a structured abstract of up to 1,000 words should be submitted.

A Sue Hrasky Scholarship is available for FRBC 2026 to doctoral students in the doctoral stream. This comprises a doctoral fee waiver, and receipted travel to the conference, subsistence and accommodation costs related to the conference (of up to £500).

All submissions by doctoral students will be considered for the scholarship. The award of the Scholarship will be communicated via email.

Submission deadline: 17 April 2026.

Authors should indicate in their submission whether their paper should be considered for either:

  • Full
  • Developmental
  • Doctoral paper track. 

Notification of acceptance

Submissions will be considered at a first-come, first-served basis.

Authors will be notified about the acceptance of their paper the soonest possible after submission and no later than 1 May 2026.

 

Publication opportunities

Accounting and Business Research (ABR) welcomes submissions of papers accepted for presentation at the conference.

Final publication decisions will be made through the journal’s standard peer-review process.

All conference sessions will be held within the historical and striking Gilbert Scott Building at the University of Glasgow. Rooming details will be released once the conference agenda has been finalised.

Airport

Glasgow Airport is well-connected to the City Centre, with the Airport Express bus service running every 10mins to Glasgow City Centre.

Subway

The Glasgow Subway (3rd oldest in the world!) is the most efficient form of public transport which connects the City Centre to the West-End of Glasgow. Hillhead and Kelvinhall stations are both very close to the University of Glasgow Campus. St Enoch and Buchanan Street are the two most central City-Centre stations.

Rail

Partick is the closest train station to the University of Glasgow, approximately 15-20mins walk. The station is a main transport hub, with a joined Subway Station and rail links connecting the city and Edinburgh.

Bus

Buchanan Bus Station is the main terminus for long-distance coaches. Routes 11 and 44 run through the main campus from the city centre. Numerous other routes serve Dumbarton Road, Great Western Road and Byres Road. A seasonal tourist bus stops at the University.
