Biography
Fengzhi joined the Adam Smith Business School in 2023 as Lecturer in Accounting after earning her PhD degree in Accounting from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. She holds a MRes in Business and Finance and a Bachelor degree in Accounting and Finance from Universidad Carlos III de Madrid.
Fengzhi is broadly interested in the determinant, properties and consequences of firms' disclosures. Rather than focusing on traditional accounting numbers, she employ natural language processing (NLP) and machine learning (ML) techniques to extract relevant information from open-source unstructured narrative disclosures released via multiple emerging disclosure channels. She is an expert on accounting conservatism and is keen to explore firms' diversity, equity and inclusion disclosures.
Fengzhi is an active member of the European Accounting Association, the Canadian Academic Accounting Association and American Accounting Association.
