Biography
Wee Meng is a Senior Lecturer in Operations Management at the University of Glasgow. His research focuses on the application of stochastic modelling, optimisation, and game theory in the control, and analysis of operations, particularly in manufacturing and transportation contexts. He teaches operations & supply chain management and currently serves as Programme Director for the Professional Pathways MSc programme. In this role, he works closely with academic leaders across the Adam Smith Business School and partner schools, including Engineering, CCA, and MVLS, to manage a portfolio of twelve postgraduate taught programmes.
Prior to academia, Dr Yeo worked as an industrial scientist, where he co-developed SIMForecaster™ and contributed to the early implementation of the SIMTech Inventory Planning Tool, both of which were deployed by companies to address large-scale inventory and logistics challenges. He also supported the Operations MaNagement Innovation (OMNI) Programme, an initiative that facilitates knowledge exchange in applied operations management. The programme combines classroom instruction with organisation-based mentorship, enabling participants to apply the OmniMethodology™ to identify operational improvement opportunities and implement productivity-focused initiatives. Through this work, he engages with managers and senior professionals across production operations and supply chain functions, supporting the translation of research-based insights into practice. Lastly, he held postdoctoral position at the Georgia Institute of Technology and served as an adjunct faculty member at Singapore Management University.
