We are delighted that Victoria Thomas will be joining Cultural Industries as a James McCune Smith (JMS) PhD Scholar in AY 26-27.
Victoria’s doctoral research will explore the impact (or lack thereof) of European film funding on diversity and inclusion in film producing. Her project will be supervised by Professors Doris Ruth Eikhof and Mark Banks, and we are very much looking forward to the insights her work will bring to the subject.
The James McCune Smith Scholarships are highly competitive, and we are thrilled that Victoria has been successful in securing this award. Her appointment reflects both the strength of her proposed research and the growing importance of critical work on equity and inclusion within the screen industries.
