On 5 November 2025, the School of Law hosted a seminar titled “The Legal Landscape of End-of-Life Wind Turbine Blade Management.” The session explored how circular economy principles are being integrated into UK regulations governing the disposal and reuse of wind turbine blades—a critical issue for sustainable wind energy development.

The discussion highlighted the need for enabling policies and legal frameworks to support the transition from a linear to a circular economy in the wind industry. The seminar presented insights from an ongoing study mapping these regulatory developments and their implications for industry and policy.

Speaker:
Dr Sai Ma, Research Fellow at the Sustainability Research Institute, University of Leeds, shared expertise on law and sustainability, focusing on practical applications and regulatory design for circular economy transitions.
