Looking Back and Looking Forward
What did you enjoy most about 2025? What was the highlight of your year? What are your plans for 2026? Is there anything you would like to achieve or anywhere you would like to visit this year?
Tamseel:
2025 highlight: Finding joy in movement through new cities, long walks, and moments that felt like freedom.
2026 plan: To travel wider, slow down in life, let things be, and experience places beyond the tourist map.
Zean:
2025: A meaningful moment for me this year was being chosen as a Mentor with Into University. Working with young students in after-school sessions taught me a lot about stepping up and communicating with purpose. Feeling truly needed and valued has pushed me to grow in ways I didn’t expect. I’ve also learned to balance speaking up with listening closely, especially when bringing different viewpoints together—something I now try to practice everywhere, from group projects to volunteering.
2026: As for 2026, I’m ready to walk into it with fresh eyes—more curious and open to whatever comes. I’m hoping to land an internship in something creative or marketing-related, and definitely plan to visit a few more European cities. I’d love to soak in different ways of living and let those experiences shape what’s next.
Yeukai:
2025: My highlight of 2025 was travelling to the UK and beginning my studies in Glasgow, a major milestone that I am deeply grateful for and proud to have achieved.
2026: I plan to visit my family back home and carry out my dissertation research, gathering insights and findings that will shape the final stage of my degree.
Murugi:
2025: The highlight of 2025 was achieving a lifelong dream of becoming a Chevening Scholar, as well as growing out of my comfort zone and intentionally seeking out new friendships.
2026: For 2026, I look forward to travelling around Scotland, preferably on a bicycle (popularly known as Bikepacking), hopefully in the Summer as well as finishing my studies well.
