The University has four independent student bodies

Students' Representative Council (SRC)

The SRC exists to represent and protect your rights throughout your time at the University. It offers countless opportunities to get involved, from volunteering in the local community to choosing from over 300 clubs and societies. You can also receive confidential advice through the SRC’s dedicated Advice Centre.

Glasgow University Sports Association (GUSA)

GUSA provides student-led representation for all UofG Sport members and creates opportunities to take part in over 50 different sports clubs. Whether it’s sky diving, cheerleading or Taekwondo, there’s bound to be something that takes your interest.

Queen Margaret Union

Queen Margaret Union hosts new music, local bands, big-name acts, student-run club nights and a variety of events from quizzes to open mic nights and a spoken word night. It is also home to two catering outlets. The QMU is well known for its live music heritage having hosted many big names such as Nirvana, Queen and more recently Charli XCX and Biffy Clyro to name but a few.

Glasgow University Union

Glasgow University Union has everything a student needs within the stunning old Union building and purpose-built extension nightclub, with no fewer than nine bars, two libraries, a debating chamber, snooker and pool hall, convenience store, two cafes and a coffee shop. The GUU has produced more World Debates champions than any other university.

Gilchrist Postgraduate Club

The Gilchrist Postgraduate Club provides a relaxed environment to meet friends, participate in group study or take a break. Facilities include a seminar room which can be booked by postgraduate students and a cafe bar with barista coffee, tea, alcohol and food. Events for postgraduate students are also held in the club.
